Hosting former President George W. Bush, a Fundraising event for the First Tee of Greater Philadelphia.

The ACE Conference Center recently had the privelage to host a fundrasing event for the The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia which featured a presentation by Former President George W. Bush.  The First Tee provides youth with educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Significant planning went in to executing this event which took place in The Lafayette Ballroom and additional tented spaces at The ACE Conference Center.  Planning included the creation of a venue that would accommodate 530 guests in multiple tents erected on our Event Deck.

EventQuip began to construct various tents 5 days prior to the event.  The plans included a 9,400 sq. ft. tented space for dinner, 1,400 sq. ft. kitchen tent, 400 sq. ft. green room, various connecting walkways, portable generators and 75 tons of air conditioning.

Eventions Productions arrived two days before to install lighting and sound equipment required for this production.

Arrangements Unlimited draped the ceiling with decorative fabric which would be lit up with special effect lighting.  Tables and chairs along with specialty linens provided by Creative Coverings were then set up along with floral centerpieces from Arrangements Unlimited to create an elegant environment.

Guests first arrived in to The Lafayette Ballroom for a reception with passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and began participating in the silent auction.

Special requirements for hosting a former President include managing logistics to securely move the President through the event spaces. A special tented walkway was erected to provide a secure path leading between spaces.

Once in the main event tent, a Green Room (actually furnished in black) with furnishings provided by Cort Event Furnishings  provided a comfortable setting for the President.

Guests were seated for dinner and enjoyed the program featuring President Bush.  ESPN Sportscaster Mike Tirico facilitated a conversation with the former President.

While guests were enjoying the program, our team from Wolfgang Puck Catering was busy preparing dinner for our 530 guests.

Chopped Vegetable Salad, Cucumber Gele’, Apricot Mango Purée, Sherry Lime Vinaigrette

Thyme-Black Pepper Marinated Beef Filet & Miso Black Cod, Baby Bok Choy, Jasmine Rice Pilaf

Dessert Trio, Myer Lemon & Vanilla Bean Torte, Dark Chocolate Parfait, Blueberry Macaron

The First Tee had a successful event and achieved their fundraising goals for the evening.
